The Call of Duty series is officially entering the Battle Royale scene. The new trailer for Black Ops 4: Blackout Battle Royale is here and it’s absolutely chaotic.

If there’s one video game genre/mode dominating the scene, it’s Battle Royale. The top game in the world, currently, is Fortnite. So, it’s a no-brainer that other gaming developers want to step into that realm as well. The next one to look forward to is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s version, Blackout. Before players across the globe get to dip their hands into the upcoming beta, a trailer has dropped, revealing all the chaotic and potential fun we’ll be having.

Throughout this entire week, we’ve gotten a variety of details about Blackout, thanks to Charlie INTEL. For example, what really stands out is the max players being capped out at 80. Comparing it to others, such as PUBG and Fortnite, which has 100, this may be a good thing. Considering how fastpaced the game is, maybe 100 players would’ve been too much.

Other details include how players will be able to fight on land, the air, or the sea. That means you can be on foot, swimming in the ocean, or riding vehicles, such as boats, automobiles, or airplanes. The possibilities are so thrilling simply thinking about them.

As for the gameplay and how the game will be played, it’s evident Treyarch Studios is aiming to reinvent the Battle Royale scene. It’s extremely fast-paced, full of different (and familiar) locations on the map, and the variety of weapons to use seems to be extensive. If you’ve played Battle Royale games before, you’ll obviously be in recognizable territory. However, if this is as good as it looks, then Blackout will be an entirely different monster.

Will this be the game to finally knock Fortnite off the map? Well, considering Fortnite is free and Epic Games is constantly dishing out fresh and new content, it’s unlikely. But, it’ll definitely give it a run for its money.
