The Tennessee Titans made it to the playoffs last season, and once they got there, they pulled off a stunning victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. Heading into the 2018 season, many experts believed they would at least make it back as a Wild Card team, but they floundered in Week 1, losing to a Miami Dolphins team that is expected to be one of the worst in the AFC.

Marcus Mariota is a solid quarterback, and he should only continue to get better in year four as the starter in Tennessee. The Titans brought in a bunch of weapons on the offensive side of the ball to help him out this offseason, but the offense was mediocre against Miami, and they will have to figure that out if they hope to compete in a very tough AFC South.

On defense, the Titans need to get better up front, and that is where they should spend their first round draft pick in April. While they are not expected to be picking this high when the actual draft takes place, if they do have a top-10 pick, they should look to add a defensive lineman like Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat.

Sweat is a guy who can play with his hand in the dirt, or on the edge, and could give the Titans the kind of flexibility they are lacking up front. Tennessee has the talent to be a perennial playoff contender, and Week 1 was likely just a speed bump on what should be a very productive 2018 season.
