New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys (-3)

Why, oh why did I bet on Eli Manning? And why will I do it again?

The Giants offense did not bring confidence to bettors this past weekend. Well, at least Eli didn’t. Odell Beckham Jr. broke 100 yards after missing most of last year with injury. Saquon Barkley also broke 100 yards in his debut. Outside of that, however, there was much to be desired.

Somehow, the Cowboys offense looked more inept than the Giants. They scored a scant eight points against the Panthers. Dak Prescott has some Cowboys fans asking Tony Romo how his back feels. Ezekiel Elliott looked pedestrian. Nothing really good came out of that performance. That’s why the Giants are the pick here.

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears (-3.5)

The Chicago Bears are getting some serious respect after a dominating performance from Khalil Mack. We can see why. He was on a pitch count, yet still dominated the game for the first half. He was hitting everything in sight, including knocking Aaron Rodgers out of the game for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are getting no respect. The defense is not what it used to be, but it can still take the ball away. They intercepted Case Keenum three times. Russell Wilson is still a playamker.

It seems a little early to start giving the Bears such an advantage over a good coach in Pete Carroll. This team still has Mitch Trubisky under center. He was kept silent in the second half on Sunday night. Going with the Bears at this juncture would be a mistake. Put the money on the Seahawks.
