Tight End: George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers- $5,600

Last week there were only two tight ends who were targeted more than Kittle. Those players were Zach Ertz and Jared Cook. The second-year tight end caught five passes for 90 yards in the 49ers loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Kittle is a big play waiting to happen, as two opportunities held him from being one of the best Week 1 tight ends. A costly drop prevented him from a potential 80-yard touchdown, and Jimmy Garoppolo missed him later in the game.

His performance came against one of the best defensive units in football. This week, he returns to the Bay Area and faces a much inferior opponent, the Detroit Lions. Detroit limited the tight end role in their first game. However, last season they were a middle of the road defense against opposing tight ends

They allowed 57 receptions for 805 yards and eight touchdowns. On average, they were giving up just under 15 yards per tight end reception. Kittle’s career average is just a tad below that number.

Marquise Goodwin’s status is unclear after suffering a deep tissue bruise in Week 1, if he is held out or has a limited role in Week 2, Kittle’s value will increase even more.

At his current value, he is a bargain. Jump on the Kittle train before it’s too late.
