Willie Taggart: Florida State – Loser

The Florida State Seminoles might just have buyers remorse right now. Through three games of the Willie Taggart era, he looks overmatched and not ready to lead a program the caliber of the Seminoles.

On Saturday, they were thoroughly embarrassed on the road against Syracuse. It was so bad of a loss that social media already had Taggart out the door and paying him and his staff the $21 million it would take to do that.

It’s only been three games but someone stepping into a spot like Florida State, where Jimbo Fisher left, shouldn’t struggle this badly. The recruits argument is a tough one to make here when guys like Deondre Francois and Cam Akers are leading the offense.

Taggart’s going to need to show quantifiable results right away or this will be a disaster of major proportions if it isn’t already. It’s a hefty price tag for him to leave and they aren’t going to fire him after three games, but he doesn’t need for there to be an argument after the season.

First impressions are always tough to overcome and Taggart hasn’t left a good one to begin his tenure in Tallahassee. His players weren’t ready for Syracuse and their performance on the field showed it.
