RAW Women’s Championship Match

Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

What we learned: We learned here that Ronda Rousey doesn’t have to dominate all the time to put on an entertaining match.

Playing up the “rib injury” she sustained at the hands of Alexa Bliss on Monday Night RAW, Ronda had to essentially fight from behind for the majority of this matchup, and it was great to see that she can do that. I know that some will talk about how unbelievable it is in reality to think that someone like Alexa Bliss could really challenge a former UFC champion like that, but this isn’t UFC. This is WWE ,and this is Rousey’s life now, and I find it impressive that she’s able to tell a good story like this so early in her career.

What’s next: I think this is the last match between these two for a while. As I mentioned, Rousey is set to team up with the Bella Twins in Australia, which likely starts the program with Nikki that is rumored to be headlining WWE Evolution, the event that will see Alexa Bliss take on Trish Stratus. It’s unfortunate that Alexa is going to be out of the title picture as she’s been at the forefront of the division for so long now and has done a wonderful job of carrying the strap. But this is Ronda time and she’s not dropping that belt anytime soon.
