Next Game: vs Army
You’d think following Baker Mayfield would be an impossible task, but Kyler Murray is quickly making Oklahoma fans lose any concern for the quarterback position.
Murray has looked practically flawless in the Sooners first three games this season, showing an impressive ability to both run and throw with great success, leading the Sooners to a 3-0 mark to start the season.
It’s possible Murray’s chances to shine will be limited in the next game, as a revitalized 2-1 Army team has been running the ball at a clip of 306 yards per game and keeping opposing offenses off the field.
How much we get to see of Murray will depend largely on the Sooners defense.
Once Murray is under center, it’s not likely Army will be able to stop him. The Black Knights are giving up 275 yards per game in the air, and rank 83rd in the nation in total defense.
Unless Murray has a meltdown game, he’ll do no worse than hold steady next week.
