Who are the ten players most likely to make substantive leaps and add to their respective skill sets in the 2018-19 NBA season?

Every year, a few NBA players burst onto the scene in unexpected and spectacular ways, permanently altering the direction of their respective franchises. Last season, Victor Oladipo excelled in his new role as the Pacers’ first option, and Clint Capela emerged as one of the best big men in the NBA.

Fans of every team are hoping that their young players can take a meaningful step up this season, but only a few players will truly make their mark and propel themselves into serious discussions for Most Improved Player, All-NBA teams, and even MVP.

This article is not intended to predict what superstars will have great seasons, nor is it aimed at forecasting which already-established young stars will continue to impress. The purpose of this piece is to identify under-the-radar young guys who could cement themselves as a franchise players through improved play this season.
