9. Dejounte Murray

The big story for the Spurs this summer was their acquisition of DeMar Derozan for Kawhi Leonard. Though they appear to be putting together a roster primed to contend now, they have a decent amount of young prospects who they can rebuild around. One such young prospect is Dejounte Murray, a 22-year-old point guard.

Murray stands at 6-foot-5 with a great frame and an exceptionally long wingspan. He is a strong defender with good passing instincts and is an excellent rebounder for his size.

Now that Tony Parker’s 17-year-run with the Spurs is over, Murray would appear to be the Spurs’ de facto point guard of the future. Though his game is still raw, and he is still very young, Murray could take a big step up this season.

Murray’s offensive statistics last season left much to be desired, but with a new offensive system designed around DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, Murray could be the beneficiary of an efficient offense where he is an important component.
