4. Chris Ash: Rutgers – Loser

It certainly feels like Chris Ash is tasked with an impossible job each week of the season. Rutgers could very well be one of the worst FBS programs and certainly the worst power-five conference program.

If getting blown out by Kansas didn’t make that clear, the Scarlet Knights were throttled again on Saturday. Tyree Jackson and the resurgent Buffalo Bulls took care of business in highlight fashion over Rutgers.

It was the third in a row of that variety for the Scarlet Knights and it’s got to be nauseating to lose each week while having no chance. It would be one thing if some of these losses were competitive, but they aren’t.

Rutgers is a free win for any major program that plays them right now and there’s little to no competition coming from them. That’s when it comes time to ask whether or not the players are buying in.

Ash will hopefully get the same patience that Kansas has awarded David Beaty but each school is different. Right now, it’s a weekly blowout loss and there are seemingly plenty more of them on the way.
