No. 5 Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles receiving corps is a complete mess which has put more pressure on the tight end position. This past week Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz both had strong fantasy days. Goedert utilized his rare combination of size and quickness to make a difference.

He finished with seven catches, 73 yards and one touchdown. His seven targets were good for second on the team.

Eventually, the Eagles will get Alshon Jeffery back in the lineup which will adjust the target distribution. Jeffery is a big bodied target who works well in the red zone. However, Goedert has done a lot of damage down the seam.

He’s a good enough talent that he could maintain a large role even when the Eagles receiving corps gets healthy.

It’s important to note that Goedert had his breakout performance with Carson Wentz under center. Wentz made his season debut and looked good despite getting little work leading up to this week. He made a lot of plays using his feet which shows he trusts his newly healed knee.

Philadelphia is one of a few teams in the NFL that are capable of having two fantasy relevant tight ends. Last year, Trey Burton had a few weeks where he showed big in fantasy leagues.
