No. 2 Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

This is back to back weeks where Tyler Boyd showed up big. His performance last week against the Baltimore Ravens appears to have got him on a role. He took that success and topped it this week against the Carolina Panthers.

Boyd was the team’s big-play threat this past week finishing with six catches, 132 yards, one touchdown and a 49-yard reception.

He was a very efficient performer based on the seven targets he received. Boyd is obviously the Bengals best option behind A.J. Green. Last year’s first round pick, John Ross, had another poor performance.

Ross also saw seven targets but finished with just three catches for nine yards. The Bengals desperately want to get Ross on track, but things have been an uphill climb.

Things have been different for Boyd and at some point the Bengals are going to start featuring him more in the offense. Cincinnati needs someone with Boyd’s consistency to help pull attention away from Green.

The one worry here is that the Bengals were playing from behind against the Panthers. This resulted in Andy Dalton attempting 46 passes. The Bengals will look to avoid that many attemps in the future.
