Winner: Colorado Buffaloes (Unranked to No. 21)

There’s an interesting team on top of the Pac-12 South standings, and it’s one that no one really saw coming at the start of the year. The Colorado Buffaloes are 4-0 on the season and are coming off a Pac-12 opening win over UCLA, which isn’t exactly an elite victory, but it’s a confidence-booster.

On the season, Colorado has beaten Colorado State, Nebraska on the road, New Hampshire as well as the Bruins. All but one of those victories has been by double-digits and with Steven Montez playing at a high level, the Buffaloes could be a dangerous team in the Pac-12.

The Pac-12 South is completely winnable, and the Buffaloes could find themselves back in the conference title game.

Going from unranked to their current spot in the AP poll is a big victory and they’ll get a couple chances to extend their lead in the Pac-12 South in the next couple of weeks with games against USC and Arizona State approaching.

Are the Buffaloes for real? It may be too early to tell, but they could run away in one of the weakest divisions in the country.
