NFL quarterback rankings, Week 5: Mitchell Trubisky dominates
Sonny Jurgensen Division
12. Carson Wentz (LW: 9)
Went slides a bit here, mostly because he’s still knocking the rust off from sitting for the better part of nine months. He went for more than 300 passing yards against the Titans but the Eagles continued to misfire on plays that could have swung the decision, including a few Wentz misses and a handful of killer drops.
11. Ben Roethlisberger (LW: 7)
Roethlisberger and the Steelers are not playing well. Yes, Big Ben currently checks in tops in the league with 1,414 passing yards, but he’s only averaging 7.60 yards per attempt, which ranks 14th. When you have an All-Pro line, Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, being average in that category doesn’t cut it. Neither does being 1-2-1 while throwing five interceptions.
10. Andrew Luck (LW: 14)
Luck looked shaky in his first three games, but boy did he turn it up in Week 4. Despite losing to Houston, Luck had one of the best days of his career, uncorking 62 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns without and interception. His 6.05 yards per attempt still ranks an ugly 31st, but he’s clearly turning the corner.
9. Kirk Cousins (LW: 11)
Cousins was absolutely fantastic against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, going for 422 yards and three scores in the 38-31 loss. If Cousins continues to play at this rate — he has 10 touchdowns and two interceptions — he will be worth the $84 million and then some for Minnesota.
