2019 NFL Mock Draft: Broncos land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders spent a lot of money to bring back head coach Jon Gruden this offseason, as he signed a ten-year/$10 million deal. The thought process was that Gruden could get this franchise back on track before they head to Las Vegas for the 2020 season, but it has been a pretty bumpy homecoming through the first four weeks of the season.
First, the team traded away star defensive end Khalil Mack, leaving a gaping hole in their pass rush. Without Mack, the Raiders have struggled to get much of a pass rush this season, and because of that, their record currently sits at 1-3. They did win last week, so they have some momentum going into Sunday.
For the Raiders, they will have two first round picks in the next two NFL Drafts thanks to the trade they made with the Chicago Bears when they got rid of Mack, and they need to hit on all four of them. With their first pick in 2019, they will likely be picking with their own pick, as the Bears have looked tremendous this season, and are going to be a contender in the NFC North all season long.
With their first pick, they should look to add talent to the pass rush, and Clelin Ferrell of Clemson is one of the best in college football at getting after the quarterback. They drafted Arden Key in the third round last season, and he has been terrific, so adding Ferrell would give them a nice tandem on the edge for years to come.
