2019 NFL Mock Draft: Broncos land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
In Week 4, the Houston Texans pulled off a remarkable victory in overtime, although they were aided by a bad decision by Indianapolis Colts first-year head coach Frank Reich. Instead of punting the ball away, and taking the tie, Reich went for it on fourth-down, and the Texans were able to get the ball back and finish the Colts off.
For Houston, it has been a pretty disappointing start to the season, as quarterback Deshaun Watson is still trying to get healthy from a torn ACL last season. His knee is healed, but coming back from such an injury is a hard thing to do, and we are finally starting to see flashes of the guy who played so well as a rookie last season.
Unfortunately, the Texans are off to a 1-3 start, and teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans are 3-1. That means a long road ahead for Houston, who could be picking in the top-10 next April. With that pick, they should look to bring in Deionte Thompson, a strong safety from Alabama.
The Honey Badger is only signed to a one-year deal, so they need to either lock him up long-term, or look to the draft to add to the safety position. When it comes to that spot, Thompson is the best player in his draft class, and he would be a welcome addition in a Texans secondary that needs a lot of work.
