FanDuel NFL: Best lineup for Week 5
Tight End: George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals
FanDuel Price: 6,400
George Kittle blew up for 125 receiving yards in CJ Beathard’s first start of the season with Jimmy Garoppolo injured. Kittle is a huge part of the 49ers passing attack, and whenever a young, mediocre passer like Beathard is in the lineup, they tend to look for the star tight end as often as possible.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals defense has issues covering tight ends. Kittle will receive a heavy dose of targets, and he’s had over 75 yards of receiving in three of his four appearances this season. The Cardinals had better watch out.
The fact that Kittle has been blowing up at the tight end position shows you that he is one of the most important players on the 49ers offense. With Garroppolo out, backup wide receivers injured, and Matt Breida playing through pain, Kittle will become a bigger part of this offense. Against the rival Cardinals, that shouldn’t change at all.
Backup Option: Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers
FanDuel Price: $5,100
If you want a sleeper, I’d take a gander at Ricky Seals-Jones on the Arizona Cardinals. Josh Rosen was a revelation last week, in spite of the fact that his stat line looked poor. His wide receivers let him down on so many occasions. Rosen completed some impossible-looking throws, and he looked the part as a franchise quarterback for Arizona.
Seals-Jones isn’t a consistent player, but he’s a huge target and a solid sleeper. Against Seattle, Seals-Jones turned two receptions on four targets into 52 receiving yards, and he could do the same against a 49ers pass defense that doesn’t look capable of dealing with his tools at the tight end position.
There are plenty of good sleepers at tight end, though, so Seals-Jones is kind of a longshot. But with others in this offense letting Rosen down, perhaps he turns to the tight end as a weapon of choice in the near future.
