FanDuel NFL: Best lineup for Week 5
FLEX: Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings @ Philadelphia Eagles
FanDuel Price: $8,300
I had some extra cash to splurge, and I decided to spend it on Adam Thielen, who has been one of the best offensive players in the league this season. The numbers he’s producing are unreal, and I like the fact that Stefon Diggs makes life easier on him by taking up so many resources on the defense. Because if the Eagles let Diggs get space, it’s all over.
Thielen is nearly as effective, and the chemistry he has with Kirk Cousins so far is unreal. The man roasted the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, and the Eagles could fall victim to Thielen’s rise to superstardom in the NFL.
Through four weeks, Thielen is averaging 118 receiving yards per game, and that’s a high standard to set. I expect him to meet that total against Philadelphia. Thielen is blossoming into one of the league’s best wide receivers, and the Eagles will feel his wrath in what should be a big revenge-game for a Vikings team that is far more potent with Cousins under center.
Defense: New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos
FanDuel Price: $4,200
After watching Case Keenum struggle against the Chiefs defense last week, I have full confidence that the New York Jets will harry him into making several mistakes this Sunday. Keenum shined for the Minnesota Vikings last week, but that was more of a product of his environment.
The Jets are third in the NFL in turnovers forced, second in first downs allowed, and in the top ten in net yards per pass attempt and yards per carry surrendered. Denver could find it difficult to move the ball through the ground and through the air, especially if Keenum follows up on his dud performance on Monday night against the rival Chiefs.
While he isn’t necessarily a bad quarterback, he isn’t good either and could throw multiple interceptions against a hungry Jets defense that is second behind the Los Angeles Rams defense in fantasy points per game. I like this matchup, I like the price, and I think the Jets defense could have their best week yet.
