New York Yankees

The Yankees are lovable! They didn’t spend a fortunate on all those high priced free agents, they acquired them via trade or built them up through the system. They Yankees did things the right way. So, you shouldn’t feel about rooting for them, right?

Sure, keep telling yourself that.

Look, there’s a lot to like about the 2018 Yankees. First of all, they hit home runs. Like, a historical amount of home runs. If you’ve ever played the EA Sports baseball series, you’ll know all about a cheat code that turned every hit into a home run. You enter the cheat code before the pitch and you could literally bunt a home run.

That’s the Yankees. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton hold down the circle button and the ball magically flies over the fence. They say “chicks dig the long ball.” Outdated terminology and gender segregation aside, it doesn’t matter if you’re a male or female. If you dig the long ball, root for the Yankees.

Other reasons to root for the New York Yankees

The Cowboys aren’t very good this year and the Lakers season hasn’t started yet.

You’ve always been a Yankees fan. You just didn’t want to admit it to yourself or your friends. But now the Yankees are good again and have a likable cast of characters so you can emerge with your Yankees cap.

You’re a Mets fan and must root for New York no matter what.

Derek Jeter. He still plays there, right? No, he doesn’t. But if you love Jeter, you can still root for the Yankees. But for the record, he’s part of the Marlins organization. Or as baseball fans call them The Yankees Farm Team.
