Option 2: Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee

Since Miller has just one touchdown this season and averages under 70 yards per scrimmage per game, he’s been more of a FLEX option than an RB2 thus far. That means wide receivers should be considered possible replacements for Miller in Week 5 if he is unable to play, and one of the most attractive options could be Miller’s teammate.

Rookie wide receiver Keke Coutee used to dazzle college football fans with his work after the catch at Texas Tech as one of Patrick Mahomes’s best weapons. Coutee showcased his ability to move the chains in last week’s win over Indianapolis, hauling in 11 receptions on 15 targets for a breakout performance in his first career regular season game.

Coutee is dealing with a minor hamstring injury, but that shouldn’t hold him back against a Cowboys defense that has enough star power to hang with DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. Both of those receivers are also questionable, with Fuller being another possible game-time decision after playing a limited role in Week 4 due to a hamstring injury.

There’s no doubt that Hopkins and Fuller are the playmakers in the Texans offense, but Coutee has quickly built a rapport with Watson and could stand to benefit from Miller’s absence. If Miller can’t play, Coutee could snag more receptions when Watson needs to work the defense underneath for some quick first downs.
