After winning two games last week, Borussia Dortmund moved past Bayern Munich to sit first in the Bundesliga. On Saturday, Dortmund host Augsburg at Signal Iduna Park. Last week, Augsburg were able to steal a point from Bayern Munich and beat Freiburg.
On Wednesday, Dortmund beat Monaco 3-0 in Champions League. Marco Reus, Paco Alcacer and Jacob Bruun Larsen scored against the Ligue 1 side. The trio has been on fire lately for Dortmund since Lucien Favre decided to move Reus inside from the wing, playing him behind the striker. In his last three games, Reus has scored four goals and added three assists. Alcacer has scored three goals in his last two games. Since coming to the Bundesliga, Alcacer has scored a goal once every 17 minutes. Bruun Larsen has also scored three goals in the last three games. The trio will likely lead Dortmund’s attack against Augsburg.
Alfred Finnbogason made his season debut on Sunday against Freiburg and scored a hat-trick. Since joining Augsburg in 2015, Finnbogason has scored 25 goals in 52 games. However, injuries have prevented the Iceland international from being one of the top goal scorers in the Bundesliga. Augsburg’s win against Freiburg moved the club into eighth place and will look to keep their point streak going against Dortmund.
