No. 2 Kenyan Drake vs Cincinnati

Alabama products love being on lists but they usually aren’t on sleeper lists. The Dolphins have hit the Frank Gore well a lot lately and I think that leans towards Drake having his best week against Cincinnati. This coming a week after the Dolphins got punched in the mouth in Foxborough.

Drake totaled 25 carries over the first two weeks as well as seven receptions. The last two? Eight carries. Ouch. Now the reason obviously with last week was the blowout but I think Drake bounces back this week.

Cincinnati has given up four touchdowns thus far on the ground and 115 yards per game average for opposing running backs so Drake finds a spot here for a sheer revenge game. The Dolphins have to be upset being 3-0 going to New England and look like you were 0-3. Add that to the limited carries and Drake should be a focal point this week.

No. 1 Corey Grant vs Kansas City

Corey Grant! Third-string backs unite. Grant has the pleasure of sitting behind two former SEC greats in Fournette (LSU) and TJ Yeldon (Alabama). Oh, where did Grant go? Auburn. It’s all about the SEC in Jacksonville.

Fournette is still struggling with the injury bug this season, once again finding himself out this week. Yeldon has been good in his stead and yet here I lay the biggest and boldest sleeper pick of the week in Corey Grant.

I know what you’re thinking. “Connor I can’t take a risk on this guy, what if he puts up a goose egg?” I hear you loud and clear. But what if he doesn’t? If Grant, who at time of writing is at 7 percent ownership in ESPN leagues, has a great Sunday and is the key to you being 3-2 instead of 2-3 who will you thank? Me, for writing this obviously.

Here’s where Grant could be big and I’ve said it for a few of these guys. Say it with me! In. The. Pass. Game. Bortles loves his backs coming out of the backfield and Grant had his best showing as a pass catching back in the win over New England with six catches for 57 yards. Sitting at 99 yards combined rushing and passing, could Grant double that this weekend?
