Kentucky didn’t look great at Texas A&M, but we aren’t going to punish them for losing an overtime game in College Station. If anything, this game proved Mark Stoops’ team is capable of hanging in games against quality opponents even when they aren’t playing great.

The loss still stings the Lexington faithful. Benny Snell looked utterly human against Jimbo Fisher’s defense. Even more concerning was the inability of Terry Wilson to make big plays on the road. It’s looking like he may limit this team’s ceiling. That doesn’t mean Kentucky isn’t a good football team, but it might mean they can’t be great.

I would have liked to drop LSU from their No. 3 spot, but I couldn’t find a team that did enough to displace them. Still, you can comfortably assume they’re much closer to the No. 4 spot than No. 2 this week. In short, they’re on thin ice.

Joe Burrow just couldn’t manage to push his team over the top against the Gators. In fairness, Ed Orgeron tried to put the game in his hands for no apparent reason. LSU abandoned the run too soon in this game. Ultimately, that’s what cost them the opportunity to score a big win in The Swamp.

It was another sleepy Saturday afternoon for Kirby Smart’s team. They weren’t troubled in the slightest by Vanderbilt. The question for Georgia isn’t whether or not they are a good football team, instead, it’s just how good they can be.

They do deserve some credit for dispatching the Commodores so callously. Jake Fromm looked particularly sharp in the passing game. He went 17 for 23 for 260 yards and three touchdowns while he was on the field. Fromm will face tougher opposition, but this game showed just how efficient he can be.

Giving Nick Saban a really good quarterback is unfair to the rest of the SEC. Tua Tagovailoa isn’t the most experienced signal-caller in the league, but he’s probably the most talented.

If you’re unsure about that, just ask the Arkansas secondary. He let the Razorbacks up for 334 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday. We should probably mention that he accomplished all that with just 13 passing attempts. Saban can complain all he wants about his team’s defense against the Razorbacks, but his team is just bored. This was another massacre for the Crimson Tide.
