Fantasy Football, Week 6: Best lineup with start/sit advice
By Dylan Broady
Lineups
QUARTERBACKS
START: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Finally, We are putting showtime Mahomes into our start/sit section! Yes, it’s been five weeks and we have yet to put this stud quarterback on our list. Through five total games thus far Mahomes has amassed 1,513 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. Week 6 he gets New Englands 19th ranked defense.
SIT: Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins
In Week 6, Tannehill gets a date with the Chicago Bears third-ranked defense. Khalil Mack has completed this defense in every way imaginable. Tannehill is not a starting quarterback in the NFL. He has only managed 972 passing yards and eight touchdowns. The Bears only allow 16.3 points per game.
RUNNING BACKS
START: Todd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams
What the Los Angeles Rams have been able to accomplish in such a short time is truly remarkable. They have it all, they are a complete team. Although they suffered more injuries in Week 5, they still managed to win in gutsy fashion against the Seattle Seahawks. Gurley has amassed a total of 415 rushing yards on 101 carries and seven rushing touchdowns, adding 230 receiving yards and two more scores.
Sit: David Johnson, Arizona Cardinals
David Johnson has been a victim of poor quarterback play and bad play calling. Even though he has managed five total touchdowns thus far he still isn’t as involved in the receiving game as we all had hoped, averaging a mere 24 receiving yards per game. Week 6 doesn’t get any better for the Cardinals or Johnson as they will go up against a stiff Minnesota Vikings rush defense who allow 99.4 rushing yards per game.
WIDE RECEIVERS
START: Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants
Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants offense should be better than this, right? They have Saquon Barkley and Beckham Jr. and a two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback. It just hasnt all come together for Pat Shurmers offense. We saw a spark in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. The trend is pointing up. Beckham has amassed 462 total yards and a touchdown on 39 receptions. Philadelphia allows 276.8 passing yards per game.
SIT: Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders
Amari Cooper just needs a change of scenery. It seems as though he doesn’t quite fit in with the Oakland Raiders. He hasnt been able to accomplish much in his 2018 campaign. Through five games Cooper has managed only 280 receiving yards and one lonely touchdown. Week 6 he gets the Seattle Seahawks and their eighth-ranked pass defense.

TIGHT ENDS
START: Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings
Kyle Rudolph is on an offense full of talent at every skill position. He still manages decent fantasy production week in and week out. Overall he has amassed 229 receiving yards, two touchdowns on 27 total targets and 23 receptions. Rudolph has remained a must start even when he doesn’t score. There’s no need to hit the panic button. Rudolph will light the way through the fog to the endzone in Week 6 against the 24th-ranked Arizona Cardinals defense.
SIT: David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
David Njoku has yet to score a touchdown this year. While his usage remains low, there was some optimism coming into the season. His 190 receiving yards on 20 receptions isn’t terrible but not good enough to trust him as a start against 14th ranked Chargers defense Sunday. Njoku simply isn’t a smart play until he starts to show some consistency in this offense with Baker Mayfield.
