2018 Stats: 934 rush yds, 11.82 ypc, 12 rush TD
Next Game: vs UCF

Darrell Henderson plays for Memphis, so national television time isn’t a luxury he’ll likely get. His registered Heisman moments will have to come via highlight reels in film rooms and on postgame shows.

That said, Henderson – the nation’s leading rusher after six games – is on a ridiculous pace this season. While he may not break Barry Sanders‘ single-season rushing record of 2,628 yards, he may very well set the record for yards-per-carry.

With only 79 carries this season, Henderson is averaging an absurd 11.82 yards per carry, also tops in the nation by a longshot. In comparison, Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor has 85 less rushing yards on 47 more carries than Henderson.

It could be argued that Memphis plays a weaker schedule than Wisconsin, but those types of numbers are Heisman-worthy in any FBS conference. This week’s game against No. 10 UCF should be a true litmus test for how good Henderson really can be.
