No. 6 Matt Ryan vs. Tampa Bay

I feel like Matt Ryan finds a spot on this list a lot. It hasn’t been easy for Atlanta, maybe an understatement, losing three in a row and sitting at the bottom of the NFC South at 1-4. There’s hope! Slim hope!

Ryan and the Falcons get Tampa Bay in Jameis’ first full start back and a defense last in the league in nearly every passing category.

I’ll run through a few, rapid fire style: 9.4 yards per pass attempt, 13 touchdowns through the air, 1,432 passing yards and the highest passer rating for opposing QBs in the league at 130.5 (Shoutout Mitchell Trubisky).

Sheesh, looks great doesn’t it? Three things stand tallest in this reasoning as to why Ryan is a great play here:

  1. The Falcons are 1-4 and their defense is shredded. The offense HAS to put up points to compete each week.
  2. It’s a division matchup and after that loss to New Orleans on Drew Brees’ rushing ability, they’re in desperate need of a division win.
  3. I just threw some stats that should alarm you if you’re a Bucs fan.
