40. Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

  • Height: 6’3″
  • Weight: 245
  • Class: Redshirt Senior

There were so many questions coming into the college season for Josh Allen (yes, back-to-back drafts with a Josh Allen). Many were wondering if he should play linebacker or along the edge because he has the athleticism to do both. However, many were concerned about his ability to diagnose plays and process quick enough to be a linebacker. This season, he’s played on the edge, and he’s starting to look like the first rounder that some analysts projected in the summer.

Allen has had seven sacks apiece in his last two seasons at Kentucky, but it looks like this year will be the breakout year for him. He already has six sacks on the season and 10.5 tackles for loss, nearly his stats in 13 games a year ago. He looks dynamic coming around the edge, winning with a wicked first step and very good bend.

39. Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

  • Height: 5’11”
  • Weight: 235
  • Class: Junior

Devin Bush gets a bit of a boost in the rankings this week thanks to a strong showing to start the 2018 season. He only has 31 tackles through six games, but he is still an impact defender. He also already has two sacks on the season, thanks to his effectiveness as a blitzer, something that was highlighted with his 2017 film. Teams are going to continue to take notice of Bush in this Michigan defense.

His athleticism makes him perfect for today’s NFL linebacker, and teams will like to use him at the WILL linebacker spot. He has the instincts and speed to make plays on the boundary, and the quickness to work into the backfield. Some team will be very happy to get him should he declare for the draft in 2019.
