Running Backs: Todd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams- $9,500 & Marshawn Lynch, Oakland Raiders- $6,500

This week’s lineup feature two running backs that have solid matchups; Gurley and Lynch. Let’s start off with the most expensive back in Week 6, Gurley.

Gurley has assembled 415 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns. The second most yards and the most touchdowns at the position. He is averaging 83 yards per carry, third most in the league. The back has also played a role in the pass game, catching 19 passes for 230 yards and two scores.

He faces a Denver Broncos team that has given up 671 yards, second most in the league, and five touchdowns, tied for third most in the NFL. In Denver’s last matchup, Isiah Crowell ran wild. He rushed for a career high 219 yards on only 15 carries. Bilal Powell also tacked on 99 yards.

In Denver’s last two games they have allowed 445 yards. To put that into perspective, they gave up more yards to running backs in their last two than 20 teams have all season. On average, running backs are rushing for 5.2 yards per carry, third most in the NFL.

Gurley will be the best running back the Broncos have faced this year and will have trouble slowing him down.

As for Lynch, this will be the first time he faces his former team, the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders are off to a slow start and ‘Beast Mode,’ will look to get Oakland back on track. Lynch has rushed for 331 yards, ninth best in the league, and has crossed the goal line three times.

He goes head to head against a Seattle run defense that has given up 645 yards, 29th in the NFL. There are only three teams in the NFL who have allowed opposing running backs to average more yards per game than the Seahawks.

Yes, Lynch wasn’t given the ball for the fourth time in his career while on the one yard line, but that shouldn’t scare you from adding him to your lineup. Lynch has finished four out of his five games in double digit fantasy points.
