High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Marcus Smart (vs PHI, $5,700): Needs 23.4 fantasy points With Terry Rozier coming into his own during the playoffs, Smart’s role as the backup shooting guard with point guard responsibilities will take a hit. He always finds a way to contribute, and if Rozier falters, Smart will pick up the playmaking slack. But he’s not a big scorer and defensive numbers are hard to come by, even for a great defensive player. Diagnosis: Very much boom or bust. He’s going to end up with around 30 fantasy points or below 20 fantasy points.

JJ Redick (at BOS, $5,100): Needs 20.9 fantasy points Redick was as reliable as they come in DFS last season. He gets a lot of shots in Philadelphia’s offense and given that he’s one of the best shooters in the league, he was a good bet to put up points on a nightly basis. Throw in a couple of rebounds and a handful of assists and it’s easy to see why he averaged 25 fantasy points last season. He won’t put up huge numbers on a nightly basis unless he’s shooting lights out, but he’s consistent and never a bad bet. Diagnosis: Round out your lineup with Redick and take the sure points.

Andre Iguodala (vs OKC, $4,300): Needs 17.7 fantasy points. The Warriors are going to play the Hamptons 5 lineup more often than not, especially with sophomore Jordan Bell starting at center. It Kerr’s most trusted lineup and we saw how valuable Iguodala is to this team in the playoffs. He can be hit-and-miss, but he has a low enough salary and will get plenty of opportunities to contribute, which counts for something. He won’t produce a big game, but he’s good enough to at least give you value. Diagnosis: A solid, but unspectacular option. If nothing else, plays alongside four All-Stars and gets a big boost as they take up a lot of attention from the opposition.
