Fantasy Football, Week 7: Best lineup with start/sit advice
By Dylan Broady
Lineups
Quarterbacks
Start: Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Matthew Stafford has gained speed each and every week after a disastrous Week 1 showing against the New York Jets. Week 7 he goes up against the Miami Dolphins 25th overall ranked pass defense. Stafford has amassed 1,385 total passing yards and 10 touchdowns on 126 total completions.
Sit: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees became the NFL’s all-time passing leader in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. Week 7 after the bye, Brees and the Saints will go up against the No. 1 ranked defense in the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore has only allowed 188 passing yards per game and a mere 12.8 points per game.
Running Backs
Start: Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins
Kenyan Drake has split carries with future hall of fame running back Frank Gore. Drake has still managed to be productive fantasy wise. Week 7 boasts a very juicy matchup against the Detroit Lions and their 30th ranked rush defense. Drakes possesses the skill set to also catch out of the backfield. Look for him to get a lot of work Sunday.
Sit: Sony Michel, New England Patriots
This might come as a shock since Michel has dominated the past few weeks averaging 18.2 carries and 80 rushing yards per game. Week 7 Michel gets a date with the Chicago Bears stout fourth ranked rush defense. James White will look to play a bigger role in his pass catching duties in this matchup.
Wide Receivers
Start: Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings
Adam Thielen going into Week 7 ranks No.1 overall in receiving yards, receptions and targets. Week 7 he will have a good matchup against the New York Jets 23rd ranked pass defense. Look for quarterback Kirk Cousins to hook up with his favorite target early and often this week.
Sit: Julian Edelman, New England Patriots
Julian Edelman has slowly worked himself back into his lead pass catching duties since returning from suspension against the Indianapolis Colts. Week 7 doesn’t favor Edelman in the matchup department. Edelman could see a slight drop against a tough Chicago Bears defensive that ranks 10th-overall in the NFL.

Tight Ends
Start: Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts
Eric Ebron is a every week starter until he stops producing as a TE1. Through six games played thus far Ebron has shown no signs of slowing down as he leads all tight ends with six receiving touchdowns. Ebron has been targeted 52 total times which puts his average at 8.67 per game good for third best in the league.
Sit: Jordan Reed, Washington Redskins
Jordan Reed has been outplayed by Vernon Davis and hasn’t really been a strong option in this Redskins offense led by Alex Smith. Reed has only amassed one touchdown on 20 receptions through five games played thus far. Week 7 he will not have a favorable matchup as Washington hosts the eighth overall ranked pass defense of the Dallas Cowboys.
