Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Green Bay Packers

Stats: three catches, 103 yards on six targets

The Green Bay Packers have been dealing with some injuries at the wide receiver position which has opened the door for Marquez Valdes-Scantling. In fact, he has seen a huge uptick in targets the past two weeks.

Valdes-Scantling has performed well with his increased snap count. He has a total of 10 catches for 173 yards and one touchdown in his last two games.

Obviously, he is due for some regression with Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison eventually working their way back into the lineup. The key here is to figure out if you have enough room on your roster to take a shot on Valdes-Scantling.

He may have another week or two left with extra playing time. After that, he will need another injury to get him back into the mix.

There is of course the possibility that the Packers trade some of their wide receiver surplus. In the offseason, we heard some talk that the Packers were shopping Randall Cobb. A trade of Cobb would create room for Valdes-Scantling and free up some cap room.

Maybe the Packers could even add some defensive or offensive line help by moving Cobb.
