Heisman Watch 2018: Darrell Henderson making run at history, Week 8 outlook
2018 Stats: 175 of 242, 2,331 yds, 28 TD, 4 INT, 1 rush TD
Next Game: @ Purdue
Dwayne Haskins had his second straight 400-yard passing game last week against Minnesota and firmly notched himself into the top of the Heisman list.
Haskins 2,331 passing yards rank third nationally and his 333 passing yards per game rank fourth in the country. No quarterback in the nation has thrown more passing touchdowns this season.
Week 8 should be an interesting one for both Haskins and the Buckeyes. Some are calling the trip to Purdue a potential trap game, and they could be right.
The 3-3 Boilermakers are a couple of first downs and lucky breaks away from being an undefeated team. However, their biggest deficiency is in pass defense, where they give up an awful 267 yards per game.
Road games at this point in the season are always dangerous (just ask Georgia). Haskins will still need to be careful and make solid decisions. Purdue has eight interceptions on the year, so despite their inability to stop the passing game, they are opportunistic about creating turnovers.
