Start: Adam Vinatieri, Indianapolis Colts
vs. Buffalo Bills
Adam Vinatieri is still at it and remains a fantasy relevant kicker. He has maintained his leg strength while providing solid accuracy. The Indianapolis Colts show total trust in him and don’t hesitate to send him out there for longer kicks.
This week the Colts face the Buffalo Bills at him in the dome. It’s a sound matchup for a kicker who won’t have to kick in the elements.
The Bills are allowing just 23 points a game but face an uphill battle this week. An injury to Josh Allen likely means Nate Peterman is starting at quarterback. Peterman’s turnover problems should lead to some extra scoring chances for Vinatieri and the Colts.
Sit: Josh Lambo, Jacksonville Jaguars
vs. Houston Texans
The upcoming game featuring the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans has the feel of a defensive matchup. In these scenarios I tend to shy away from the kickers for either team. A kicker’s fantasy production is just to dependent on his team’s offensive success.
It’s been a tough go for the Jaguars of late and they will have a hard time getting their offense going against the Texans. There are likely better options than Josh Lambo on the waiver wire in your league.
