FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – October 18, 2018
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
LeBron James (at POR – $11,700): Needs 48.2 fantasy points. New team, probably the same LeBron. I don’t know what to make of the Lakers and the guys around LeBron, but I know that he’s the best player in the world and can put up numbers in all categories. He’ll carry the team on his back if he needs to, and he may need to. You can never go wrong with having LeBron on your team, but I am worried about the mix in Los Angeles. Diagnosis: He’s LeBron. He’ll cost you a lot and I may not love him on opening night, but…he’s LeBron.
Josh Richardson (at WAS – $6,900): Needs 28.4 fantasy points. Richardson had 34.5 fantasy points against the Magic. He’s arguably the best player on Miami (Goran Dragic might disagree) and he’s becoming the most consistent. I love everything about Richardson’s game and suspect he’ll continue to be a consistent force in DFS this season. Diagnosis: Playing back-to-back on the road, after losing to the Magic, isn’t a good thing on paper. The Miami is a weird team to figure out. Richardson is a constant, if nothing else.
Robert Covington (vs CHI – $6,700): Needs 26.7 fantasy points. Covington had another rough game against Boston, but that matchup seems to be his kryptonite. He should have a much easier team against the Bulls. The salary is a bit high, which is worrying and there might be some more value under him. But the Bulls are an enticing matchup for any team this season, especially a team as good as Philly. Diagnosis: I don’t love the salary, but I do love the matchup. Still, believe there’s more value under him.
