1. Back the Chargers -6.5 vs. Tennessee

The Chargers are only 4-2 on the young season, but their two losses are to Kansas City and the Rams. That is allowing Los Angeles to fly under the radar. Closer examination of their team makes it clear they are legitimate AFC title contenders.

It’s almost impossible to believe that Philip Rivers will win the MVP Award this year, but he might well deserve it based on his play this season. He’s been deadly in the Chargers passing game. To date, he’s completing over 70% of his throws and he’s only thrown 2 interceptions compared to 13 touchdowns. It’s hard to imagine a quarterback playing much better than Rivers is at the moment.

The Titans certainly can’t say that about Marcus Mariota. He’s had some good moments this year, but there are still concerns about whether or not he can be the Titans’ quarterback of the future. His erratic play is a big reason that Tennessee is currently sporting a 3-3 record this season.

Next. Chargers show they can win the AFC. dark

Our decision to bet on the Chargers here comes down to our faith in their offense to move the ball at will against the Titans defense. If that happens, Mariota and company won’t be able to keep up. That’s a great formula for a pretty easy win by Los Angeles. Betting on the Chargers can be dangerous, but we like it as our best bet of the week.
