No. 9 Mitchell Trubisky vs. New England

Hear me out here. Trubisky has been really good the last two games for Chicago, minus the first half in the loss to Miami. The offense is coming together and a big part of that has been the importance of Taylor Gabriel and Tarik Cohen.

They’ve been huge for the Bears quarterback in their quest to stay above the NFC North.

After the loss at Miami who does Trubisky get? New England. That’s a tough matchup and a season defining win if the Bears can find a way on both sides of the ball to be effective against Belichick and Co.

After just two touchowns through the air in the first three games, Trubisky has nine the last two including that six touchdown romp against the Buccaneers. He also posted the two highest QB ratings of his career with a 154.6 (!) against Tampa Bay and then a 122.5 in Miami.

Up to and past the 50 yard line is where Trubisky has been most lethal but that stretch leading into the opposing red zone is what has made him deadliest this season. From midfield just shy of the 20, Trubisky is 34-for-43 with 400 yards.

I like that to continue this week against a New England pass defense that hasn’t yet found the right rhythm, even in the win over the Chiefs Sunday night.
