Corey Clement leads the Philadelphia Eagles in carries and total yardage

The Philadelphia Eagles are still searching for some consistency from their running game. Losing Jay Ajayi has had a bigger impact than most expected. So far, Philadelphia has been rotating Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement.

Smallwood has been getting the bigger workload, but overall hasn’t really stood out. It’s time for the Eagles to shift and give Clement more touches.

Clement has shown flashes of being able to be a workhorse. He is a tough runner who has enough quickness to break off long runs. His ability as a pass catcher out of the backfield makes him even more dangerous.

This week the Eagles take on the Carolina Panthers who have a solid defense. However, that doesn’t mean the Eagles can abandon the running game. Clement is someone who can work between the tackles and help the Eagles move the chains.

Philadelphia’s offense as a whole has started to click. Carson Wentz is shaking off the rust and opening up the passing attack. This should create more room for the running game.

The Eagles could have a chance this weekend to finally get their running game on track. They were at their best last year when things were balanced.
