4. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have had a pretty rough first six weeks. Call it the Super Bowl hangover if you will, but this team seems to have a few more issues than that. Their three wins have come over the Falcons, Colts and Giants. These three teams have a combined record of 4-14, with both the Colts and Giants at 1-5.

That is not good. Also, the three losses have come against the Buccaneers, Titans, and Vikings. The only talented team on that list is the Vikings and they have been struggling with injuries. Now, the Eagles have had their own battles with the injury bug. Just last week their best running back, Jay Ajayi, was placed on the Injured Reserve due to a torn ACL.

That leaves Wendell Smallwood and Cory Clement to carry the load, and they are well, less than inspiring. However, the team is still wildly talented on both sides of the ball and should not be a measly 3-3 through six weeks. With Carson Wentz back from injury and Alshon Jeffery back as well, the offense should be able to overcome losing Ajayi.

A game against the Panthers is never easy, but being at home in front of the philly faithful should be a good boost for the Eagles. If the defense steps up and takes away the Panthers running game, the Eagles have a good shot at winning this contest. A win would not only be important for keeping pace in the NFC East, but it would be a huge boost of confidence for a team that desperately needs one.
