6. Michigan (W 21-7 over Michigan State) – Big win for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines defense who allowed Michigan State to run for 15 yards and gain 94 yards of offense in a rainy day in East Lansing. Shea Patterson threw for a pair of scores and Karan Higdon had 144 rushing yards, his sixth straight game with more than 100 yards on the ground. When he’s on, this team is going to be tough to beat.

7. Texas – Idle. Next: At Oklahoma State on Oct. 27

8. Georgia – Idle. Next: Florida on Oct. 27 from Jacksonville, FL.

9. Oklahoma (W 52-27 vs. TCU) – Kyler Murray threw four touchdowns and had only five completions on the afternoon. The story for the Oklahoma offense, however, was the running back tandem of Kennedy Brooks (168) and Trey Sermon (110) who combined for 278 yards and three touchdowns in the Big 12 win.

10. UCF (W 37-10 vs. East Carolina) – The Knights didn’t have Heisman hopeful, quarterback McKenzie Milton, in this one, but the nation’s longest winning streak was extended to 20 games. UCF only got 69 yards from Milton’s replacement, Darriel Mack, Jr. which isn’t really nice. What is nice is UCF will have next week off which they’ll hope means Milton can get healthy and return to the starting lineup for the next game vs. Temple on Nov. 1

11. Florida – Idle. Next: Georgia on Oct. 27 from Jacksonville, FL.

12. Oregon (L 20-34 vs. Washington State) – After an emotional win last week vs. Washington, Oregon was victim to an emotional win by Washington State. Ducks fell down 27-0 in the first half before making a game of it late, but the huge first-half deficit was just too much to overcome.

13. West Virginia – Idle. Next: Baylor on Oct. 25.

14. Kentucky (W 14-7 vs. Vanderbilt ) – This was an ugly game. The result is pretty for Kentucky who is bowl-eligible on Oct. 20 after improving to 6-1. But they did so by only completing three passes for 18 yards. The good thing is Benny Snell, Jr. put the game on his shoulders, rushing for 169 yards and a touchdown.

15. Washington (W 27-13 vs. Colorado) – The Huskies didn’t play that well offensively, but thankfully, for them, the defense came to play and they didn’t have to try to figure out how to slow Laviska Shenault who was out for Colorado. Washington limited the Buffs to 3-13 on third downs, 0-2 on fourth down and had a big interception from Ben Burr-Kirven to ice the game late.
