FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – October 23, 2018
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
Nikola Mirotic (vs LAC – $7,400): Needs 30.4 fantasy points. Mirotic has been on fire to start the season and I don’t think the Clippers will be the team to slow him down. There’s obviously a concern that he goes cold on a night, but as long as he’s shooting like this, keep taking him. He’s also making up value with his rebounding. The salary is still far too low for the production he’s given you thus far. Diagnosis: Ride the hot hand until he goes cold.
Danilo Gallinari (at NO – $6,600): Needs 27.1 fantasy points. Gallinari continues his strong play as he returns to health. Production has never been an issue for Gallinari, who is one of the best players on the Clippers. Along with his scoring, he’s chipping in with rebounds. He should continue to get his points against the Pelicans and with the pace they play at, rebounding opportunities will be there as well. Diagnosis: I like the matchup and the way he’s been playing this season.
Robert Covington (at DET – $6,100): Needs 25.1 fantasy points. Covington had 25.3 fantasy points against the Magic on Oct. 20. He’s a streaky scorer who appears to be in a bit of a slump right now. And he doesn’t consistently do enough in other areas to make up that value. If Ben Simmons doesn’t end up playing, Covington will have a big opportunity to step up. He played very well against the Pistons last season. Diagnosis: A good matchup and potentially the right set of circumstances.
