RB: Raheem Mostert, San Francisco 49ers

In a crushing loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, Raheem Mostert burst onto the scene as a valuable part of the San Francisco 49ers and somebody worth placing on the fantasy football “Watch List”.

Mostert followed up his 12-carry, 87-yard display against Green Bay by converting 7 carries into 59 yards in a Week 7 blowout loss to the rival Los Angeles Rams.

As poor as the 49ers were in that game, it’s unlikely they will lose by nearly 40 to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8, which means they’ll run the ball more frequently. With Matt Breida still not at 100% and the Cardinals run defense perhaps being the worst in the NFL, Mostert is a must-add in fantasy leagues.

Beyond the favorable matchup, Mostert is averaging 6.3 yards per carry this season and is legitimately one of the most intriguing running backs in fantasy right now.

TE: C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals

C.J. Uzomah has stepped into the starting lineup for the Cincinnati Bengals after Tyler Eifert’s season-ending injury, and he’s impressed when he’s stepped onto the field. The Bengals offense runs through A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and the running backs, but Uzomah could be angling for a bigger role in the offense.

Whenever he’s targeted, he shows up, and he could get more looks from Andy Dalton as the quarterback’s trust in his new tight end grows. Uzomah hauled in a touchdown reception last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he caught 6 passes in the Bengals previous contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
