James Conner, Pittsburgh Steelers, $8,000

Stats: 453 rushing yards, 7 touchdowns, 257 receiving yards

James Conner will continue to be the Pittsburgh Steelers running back going forward. The Steelers don’t usually play the contract game, at least not these days. Why should they? They have a young talented running back who is just happy to be alive and healthy. Conner’s past health issues are no secret to anybody. The man has overcome cancer. Now he’s balling out for his hometown team. This is movie material. folks.

The Steelers don’t need Le’veon Bell to win games. They have proved it. Conner should be the guy going forward. Bell needs to be traded this season. There’s no debating that. What Conner has accomplished this season is nothing short of amazing. He has to be good, his seven rushing touchdowns is 2nd-ranked among running backs. More notably, he was on bye in Week 7.

What also needs to be stated is Conner averages 75 rushing yards per game and 43 receiving yards per game. Cleveland is 28th-ranked against the rush. The Steelers at home against the Browns? That’s a no-brainer. The Steelers will want to make another statement to Bell as he has yet to report to the team. Conner has made a lot of statements this season and will look to continue that trend on Sunday.

Conner has proven he can fill the void Bell left behind. The Browns need to prepare for this speedy youngster who can and will dominate ball games. What’s being overlooked is the impact guys like Conner have being able to catch the ball out of the backfield. Conner comes at a cheap price in Week 8. He is the fourth most expensive running back coming into this matchup. Take advantage of it and help yourself to some paydirt this Sunday.

Prediction: 100 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, 2 total touchdowns
