Players costing $6,250 or under

Dennis Schroder (vs PHO – $5,900): Needs 27.1 fantasy points. Schroder has been up-and-down this season, which is a pretty perfect description of Schroder as a player. If Westbrook doesn’t end up playing, Schroder will draw the start and likely have a big game given the matchup. Even if Westbrook plays, Schroder’s salary has settled into a reasonable spot. Diagnosis: Take him if Westbrook sits and expect a big game. If Westbrook plays, he should be around value.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (at LAC – $4,900): Needs 22.3 fantasy points. Oubre Jr. is outplaying Otto Porter Jr, which is terrible news if you’re a Wizards fan. If Markieff Morris doesn’t end up playing, Oubre Jr will get that extra playing time. He’s inconsistent, but besides Beal, everyone is inconsistent on the Wizards. The potential is there. Diagnosis: I don’t even know with the Wizards anymore. Take him with confidence if Morris doesn’t play.

Austin Rivers (at LAC – $3,600): Needs 16.6 fantasy points. Maybe Austin Rivers should play more? Honestly, if Austin Rivers is the answer, you may not want to know the question. I have Rivers listed because I’m a big believe in the “revenge game” and Rivers probably wants revenge on his father for trading him. He’s also a low cost option who still gets solid minutes. Diagnosis: Low cost with potential, but has proven nothing this season.
