High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Buddy Hield (at MIA – $5,500): Needs 24.8 fantasy points. Aside from a clunker against the Nuggets, Hield has been strong this season. He’s had back-to-back 30-plus fantasy point games against the Grizzlies and Wizards. The Heat present a tough matchup, but Hield is shooting extremely well and chipping in with rebounds. I expect him to continue with his hot start. Diagnosis: Can be a tough matchup, but Hield is looking like one of the most improved players of the year this season.

Malcolm Brogdon (vs TOR – $4,600): Needs 21 fantasy points. Brogdon has not only been reliable, but I still like him to be a guy who steps up given the minutes he gets and his salary. The stars will steal the show, but an under-the-radar player will emerge in this one. Given Brogdon’s minutes, role, and salary; he’s a solid bet to at least hit value and possibly do more. Diagnosis: Sneaky value pick that I have a gut feeling about.

Bryn Forbes (vs DAL – $4,400): Needs 20.1 fantasy points. Forbes has been over 20 fantasy points in every game this season. There’s nothing flashy about what he’s doing, he’s just getting his job done. I see no reason to think he’ll slow down given the team he’s on and his shooting ability. The Spurs should put up plenty of points against the Mavericks, who are on a back-to-back. Diagnosis: Reliable option who is going to score and possibly do a bit more.

Quick Hits

Markelle Fultz ($4,200): Still getting plenty of minutes and has a good matchup. Showing improvement with each game.
