Cleveland Browns

Hue Jackson’s team entered the season hoping to ride Tyrod Taylor to playoff contention. They deviated from that plan pretty quickly. The offense now firmly lies in the hands of Baker Mayfield.

The rookie has shown some flashes of quality play, but his overall numbers are below average. Despite having a reputation of being one of the most accurate throwers in the league, he’s only completing 58.3% of his passes. That’s really caused the Browns’ offense to slump in recent weeks.

In many ways, the play of the defense has been even more concerning. There’s a lot of high-end talent on that side of the ball for Cleveland. Myles Garrett has been good this season, but he’s got the talent to be great. Everyone on that side of the ball seems to be playing a level below their potential through eight games.

The bottom line is that this coaching staff isn’t getting the most out of the talent on their roster. That’s exactly why Jackson got the axe on Monday. Given that fact, you shouldn’t be surprised at our pretty ugly grade for the Browns this year.
