12. Deshaun Watson (LW: 14)

After tearing his ACL a year ago, we’re getting to see how great Watson is all over again. The second-year man out of Clemson is overcoming a horrendous head coach and the worst offensive line in football, not to mention an offense that is down to one real weapon. Despite all of it, Watson has 2,176 yards and 15 touchdowns, and the Texans are 5-3 because of him.

11. Kirk Cousins (LW: 8)

Cousins is getting criticized because the Vikings are 4-3-1,and he threw a pick-six on national television over the weekend. It’s bad analysis. Cousins has been terrific for Minnesota, throwing 16 touchdowns and completing almost 71 percent of his throws. He’s not elite, but he never was, and the Vikings should be happy with his above-average showing.

10. Ben Roethlisberger (LW: 9)

Roethlisberger is always tricky to analyze. On the surface, he’s thrown for 2,290 yards and 14 touchdowns, but the numbers are somewhat propped up with a bevy of pass attempts (297 in seven games) and two outrageous receivers in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown. He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but his games has slipped just a touch.

9. Andrew Luck (LW: 12)

Luck is proving he’s healthy again, doing so behind an improved offensive line and with some young legs in the backfield. The Colts aren’t going to turn a ton of heads this year with a rebuilding roster, but Luck has 23 touchdown passes, second only to Patrick Mahomes.
