Players costing $6,667 or under

Klay Thompson (vs NO – $6,600): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. Thompson slides in just under the line despite his big 59 fantasy point effort against the Bulls. You know what you’re getting with Klay. He’ll get his shots, it’s just a matter of them going in. Being the third option will limit him on most nights, but we always know what he’s capable of. The Pelicans are a good matchup due to their lack of perimeter defense. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but inconsistent due to his role on the team.

Wesley Matthews (at LAL – $4,900): Needs 20.3 fantasy points. Matthews had a rough night against the Spurs, but he’s been fairly consistent this season and the Lakers remain a good matchup. The return of Barnes has hurt Matthews a bit, but I like this salary given the matchup. His value is going to be largely tied to his scoring. Diagnosis: Low-cost option against a good matchup. Should get plenty of shots to hit value.

Monte Morris (at CHI – $4,600): Needs 19 fantasy points. Morris has been playing good minutes with Barton sidelined. The results haven’t always been there, but minutes matter at such a low salary. And matchups matter. The Bulls have looked all out of sorts and the Nuggets defense is potent. Diagnosis: Low-cost option who is gonna get minutes and scoring opportunities. Love the matchup.
