College football Week 10: Alabama-LSU headlines best games of the week

(1) Alabama at (3) LSU – 8:00 p.m. ET – CBS
What more can be said to build the excitement for this game on Saturday? It’s a legitimate heavyweight title fight and the winner will likely be playing for a spot in the National Championship game later in the year.
The Crimson Tide have been known for their dominate defenses over the years, but the dynamic quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has turned this team into an offensive juggernaut. Alabama has been on an absolute tear on the offensive side of the ball and will enter the game averaging 54 points and 564 yards per game, both of which lead the nation. Although the Crimson Tide haven’t played a dominate defense to date, it’s still SEC football, which makes these numbers look like something out of a video game.
All the talk about Alabama’ offense must be burning the ears of the LSU defense. This is a unit that has allowed over 21 points only once this season and is littered with NFL talent that can match-up with the Alabama offense. That said, head coach Ed Orgeron must get his offense going to dethrone the Crimson Tide. Although the unit has been extremely efficient all year, they have lacked the explosive plays needed to beat a team like Alabama. Whether or not they can make that happen on Saturday, will go a long way in deciding the winner of this match-up.
Although Coach O has said, “We’re going to go to win the game,” don’t think for a second it’s going to happen. This may be Nick Saban’s best team in years (which I feel like we say every year…) and they looked poised to run the table on the road to the College Football Playoffs.
