Isaiah Crowell, New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

In Week 8, fantasy football owners who trusted Isaiah Crowell to cobble together a decent performance against the Chicago Bears came away disappointed. Crowell was abysmal, carrying the rock 13 times for 25 yards. His four-carry, 0-yard display against Jacksonville earlier this season aside, this was Crowell’s worst effort of his 2018 campaign.

That said, Crowell has been surprisingly solid for the Jets this year, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He’s looked more like the running back who shined in 2016 for the Cleveland Browns with 4.8 yards per carry and 952 total rushing yards with seven touchdowns.

This week, Crowell has a great opportunity to bounce back after his putrid performance against Chicago, because he’ll go up against a Miami Dolphins run defense that surrenders 1,145 rushing yards. That’s tied for the most allowed in the NFL this season with the Cardinals.

The Jets are 3-5, and they are just one game behind the 4-4 Dolphins, who are second in the AFC East. With Sam Darnold at quarterback, the Jets have been competitive this season, and they should be competitive against Miami. That means Crowell will get his touches, and he’ll stand more of a chance of having a solid fantasy performance in Week 9.
