2. Newcastle beat Watford to get first win of the season

Newcastle have been awful this season, picking up only three points from their first 10 matches. Watford, on the other hand, have started brilliantly and will fancy their chances of taking something from this match.

Rafa Benitez is desperate for his side to show some kind of inspiration but the Spaniard doesn’t have a lot of attacking options to choose from. Their best performance came against Manchester United, but in that match their shaky back line left them wanting.

Newcastle desperately need something to go their way — even if it’s just a slice of luck in order to get that first win of the season. If they don’t find that win this weekend, it may only be a matter of time before Benitez is searching for a new job.

Watford have shown they’re capable of winning on the road as well with good wins at both Wolves and Burnley. They also had a good performance away to Arsenal but they didn’t take any of the several chances they created.

Newcastle’s defense is not reliable and they should go out and attack Watford rather than sitting back. Whether they’ll have the confidence to do that or not is a different matter. They can definitely rely on the backing of their strong home support, though.

Hopefully this is an entertaining match full of goals. If it is, then the likely winners would be Watford, but this weekend Newcastle will get that rub of the green and finally get their first win of the season.
